So here’s the story in a nutshell. We bought an old knockdown, completely uninhabitable pile of bricks in Woollahra. We have a friend who is an architect (actually a very very good one) and we asked him to design something nice, and something that would shoot through Woollahra Council as fast as possible. We just wanted to go fast so figured we would go route one by keeping it simple, compliant and considerate.
Our Architect designed it (took about 4 months all up) and during this we talked to all our neighbours, they all bought into the design which is pretty modest. It’s a pretty simple square looking thing typical of modern Sydney architecture. Eco friendly with everything that we could think of that would reduce our carbon footprint.
The plan was just to get this thing in and get building as fast as possible. That’s what you do when you have all your money going into something like this. The sooner you get in, the sooner you can stop paying twice …remember you have to live somewhere whilst you build. That costs a lot of money.
